Come and get your happy on! Tonight, August 21, don your No More Mat-Su and/or Rotary apparel and meet fellow Rotarians from our club and others in the Mat-Su Valley at the "Happy Run", a weekly community run that is put on by Palmer's Active Soles Footwear folks. They do it EVERY week, no matter the weather, for FREE for the sheer purpose of bringing the community together in a healthy way. And, BONUS, it always ends at the Palmer Ale House and there are prizes. Did I mention that it is entirely free??? See attached flyer.
The No More Mat-Su committee would like to gather our club and other Rotarians multiple times throughout this year at the Happy Run. Why?
• Fellowship - with other members in our club and potentially other clubs
• Community exposure of the No More Mat-Su logo - did you buy apparel last year? We might as well find ways to wear it as much as we can. Come support a very significant club service area.
• Community exposure to Rotary giving back to another organization that provides a healthy, accessible community service - let's celebrate this healthy, free, weekly ritual!
• Small time commitment. Walk/run starts at 6 pm outside Active Soles in the Koslosky building (see flyer) and walkers (like me) will walk the 2.5 mile route. For those who want to run there's also a 3.5 mile and 5 mile route.
• For those who want to linger and attain more fellowship time and BEER - it ends at the Palmer Ale House and it's festive, with families and plenty of young professionals (think fresh blood for new members!)
